Implemented new "Enhanced Text Notifications" to improve speed and throughput of notification messages
We have changed the way we are generating and sending system notification from the Amwell Hospital platform (i.e., message updates, assigned cases, case updates, appointment reminders, etc.). The enhanced text notifications will come from a new 5-digit short-code and will greatly improve the reliability and efficiency of the messages sent through the platform.
While the previous 10-digit number(s) will still be utilized, we recommend that you take advantage of the new notification option as this will be more efficient, ensure that your messages are sent with timely delivery, and prevent messages from potentially being blocked by some mobile carriers.
NEW USERS: Any new user who signs up will be messaged with the option to OPT-IN or OPT-OUT of the new "Enhanced Text Notification" upon receipt of their first notification.
EXISTING USERS: All existing users will not be impacted and will continue to receive clinical user text notifications as normal, but from the new 5-digit short code number instead (once the new service goes live).
The 'User Profile' page will show the status of the "Enhanced Text Notification". If it is "Not Enabled" you can resend the opt-in text message to enable this service.
NOTE: If you choose not to opt-in, or at some later point decide to opt-out, you will still receive notifications sent from a 10-digit number, which can be disabled in the "Notifications" section of your profile.
Ability to add line breaks for web secure messages on web with SHIFT + ENTER
You are now able to use SHIFT+ENTER add a line break to send multi-line messages when sending a secure message over web. Pressing ENTER by itself will send the message as has always been the case.
Patient Portal branding updates
We have given the Patient Portal a new look and feel! In keeping with the overall rebranding effort to the Amwell Hospital platform, the Patient Portal has been refreshed with new fonts and colors.
You can see the comparison of the previous and updated page designs below. Please note that there is no impact to your workflow — no buttons have been relocated, nor have any existing features and functionality been altered.
Minor branding changes to the Reports page
In our continued effort to rebrand and improve the Amwell Hospital platform, we have applied minor cosmetic changes to the Reports page to align with the rest of the platform. There are no change to your workflow with these design treatments.
